  Departmental Bike Share Program
Thanks to MASCO’s CommuteWorks Departmental Bike Share Program, five departments from Beth Israel Deaconess, Children’s Hospital Boston, Dana-Farber/Partners and Harvard School of Public Health now have a convenient new option for work-related travel in the LMA -- departmental bicycles.

As the number of employees in the LMA has grown, offices and work places have become more spread out. People travel from one LMA location to another by foot, shuttle bus, taxi and car. Five departments from Beth Israel Deaconess, Children’s Hospital Boston, Dana-Farber/Partners and Harvard School of Public Health now have a convenient new option for work-related travel in the LMA -- departmental bicycles.

Through the Departmental Bike Share Program, MASCO’s CommuteWorks awarded five bikes and accessories (helmets, locks, fenders, and computers to track mileage) to the departments who submitted the strongest proposals in an LMA-wide competition. Each department identified a point person and CommuteWorks helped set up an Outlook reservation system to ensure employees can rely on the bikes being available. Plans are already in the works for expanding the Departmental Bike Share Program and awarding 10 bicycles next year. Applications will be available in February. For more information contact Matt Grymek, mgrymek@masco.harvard.edu or 617-632-2796.
